It's funny... I have kept my opinion to myself not having known of Queen in its heydays with Freddie, but I have read a few books on them and seen a few documentaries...
I wonder if Brian and Roger ever get tired of having to fawn over Freddie's memory ad nauseum. From what I have read/seen, Freddie was a diva in the worst sense of the word. He had mood swings, would claim he simply could not go on to do a show, only to get fawned over by the entourage and then giving in... Claiming ownership of songs (it mattered a lot back then because whoever 'wrote' a song, got the royalties and none of them were rich then)... Throwing temper tantrums backstage if a show didn't go to his satisfaction (whether technical or set malfunctions) and Brian was usually the one to calm down the waters with whomever Freddie had lashed out at.
John Deacon kind of stayed away from Freddie as much as he could in order to avoid the drama.
Freddie was an iconic singer but never let anyone forget it...
What a breath of fresh air for Brian and Roger to have Adam as their frontman... No diva drama, pure joy of entertaining, goes with the flow when something goes wrong, is very generous on stage with ALL the band members... So no, "Adam is no Freddie", and I bet that Brian and Roger bless their stars every morning that he isn't!!!!

I am sure you are correct.....
You know Brian & Roger must find Adam to be such a delight & pleasure to work with.....
Their friendship shows on stage... it is a beautiful thing

I never thought of it that way. Interesting perspective.
I've never known much about Freddie, other than his tragic death and the huge musical legacy of songs the band had. I do know that he always tried to do his own thing, without the band and under his own name, so did Brian and Roger. As big of a star that Freddie was, he couldn't have the same kind of success without them. None of them could.
It was really a combination of them all that made the magic.
Adam can, and they are lucky he his lending his own time and talent to bring their music to a new generation.

OOOOF! I thought I would get blasted for defacing Freddie's golden image!

Their friendship shows on stage... it is a beautiful thing
SO happy they all found each other
Adam steps back again, one of many times, to blend in with the rest of the band, and Brian will not have it!
It truly is "a beautiful thing" ...about 8:20
Adam Lambert & Queen WWRY/WRTC Toronto 1 07-13-14
People, especially fans, tend to glorify someone who died young/unexpected.
Freddie is dead for over 20 years now and perhaps Brian and Roger are idealizing him in their memories? Or do you think they are faking the love and admiration? Some people on twitter said Brian cried during "Love of my life" - I think he is genuine in his feelings.

Really made me tear up...WOW...!!
So many shows and they seem to love Adam more and more
I was there last night and I have no words to describe it...Simply amazing...They were loving Adam so much..I was so proud...Guys around me were all taping Adam and when he held that note for 17 seconds all I heard was wow..wow..wow...He blew people away..His voice is so strong..and just unreal..My sister inlaw and boyfriend were with us and she thought some of the songs must be recorded because his voice is so unreal live..And her boyfriend said it the best concert he ever went to...And they are big concert goers...She and I are going to the next Toronto show as well...CAn't wait..So happy I will get to see this again....I still can't believe what I witnessed last night..And my husbands's face when Adam was holding that note was priceless...
The only bummer about the night is my program got stolen along with my and my husbands sunglasses and my cell..I had it all in a bag together...I guess they needed it more...
Hmmmmm.....when I went to look, it said the article could not be found, or something to that effect. Think it was pulled?

Awwww, sorry about the theft That's a bummer!
This was so powerful I was shaking and crying and singing! The house blew up after he finished SBTL ... everywhere I went women I did not know would start telling me their & admiration for the Lamb I guess they could tell by the way I was dressed I was a Glambert ..... my daughter (32) who is a real Bowie fan, really got a kick out of the lounge set with Killer Queen. I loved the flutter of the eyelashes during SBTL
We ere up in 320 front row and got such a great view of stage/light show and the performers !!! I think I will go back July 28th.. wish I could of made the MSG ones but I have to fly west for family gathering... everyone enjoy the upcoming concert!!

I think when an icon dies young....their life is glorified somewhat......
Most bands of that era had their ups & downs.....
Brian's love for Freddie is probably genuine ....I read he had cried as well during that song....
I do also believe....Brian & Roger have love and respect for Adam as well......
I feel sure they have enjoyed this experience with him
So hoping this Queenbert experience continues in some capacity in the future
Once you're on the "File Not Found", type "Queen Adam Lambert" in the search bar (top right), the first article is the one you want.
I have a strong negative reaction on the last line ' At the very least, you’ll enjoy Mercury in retrograde.' and the title. I think with these lines, he knew that it will attract many comments... and indeed it has. It could be this motivation to get more hits . Most of the 38 comments bombasted him that surely he was not there to appreciate the crowd cheers and enjoyment on top of the filled concert. But he is right when he said that Brian's solo should be shortened. It was 20 minutes. I would think 5 minutes should be enough (or too long still?) since he had so many solos during the songs.
