Did anyone here actually hear what Brian said about video taping the show? Or has this become a twitter rumor that's getting bigger with each tweet.

Queen and Adam Lambert Found Me “Somebody to Love” During Oz Tour Stop
by Sarah Goddard · August 26, 2014
When I was growing up, my dad and I used to spend our Sunday’s watching movies and listening to music. Not the movies and music of the time, but what my dad liked to call “the classics” or “the greats”. From my earliest memory, these father – daughter dates were the highlight of my week. It wasn’t so much the movies I looked forward to, that’s not to say that I didn’t enjoy them, but the music… Oh, the music.
My dad’s all time, number one, most favourite band in the world, is Queen. We would sit in the living room playing record after record, not saying a word, just enjoying each other’s company and the music as it enveloped us.
In 1985, my dad got to live out one of his ultimate dreams. Seeing Queen live. And to this day, he tells the story of the time he was in the same room as Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, John Deacon and Spike Edney. It’s a story he now tells my son, as the two of them have now begun their journey into “the classics”, devoting a part of their Saturday’s to sitting around listening to music. And yes, my dad still gets his records out.
When Freddie Mercury passed away in 1991, I think a part of my dad died with him. I was 12 at the time and can remember my dad’s eyes losing a little bit of their sparkle, and I can vividly remember the utter sadness in my dad’s voice when he told me that Freddie was gone, and that I would never get the chance to see Queen live on stage, for myself.
Well dad, I did.
Last night (August 26) I got to live out one of my ultimate dreams. Seeing Queen live. I have been to hundreds of concerts in my life, from tiny little pub gigs, to big scale theatrical productions. But nothing will ever compare to what I witnessed last night.
From the moment the night began, from meeting my friends at the train station, to taking our seats, I was in awe. As we walked along the corridor to find the entrance to our section, I refused to look in the other doors as we passed, not wanting to see the stage until we were seated. I needed that moment, that “ GASP. IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING?” moment. And I got it.
The Allphones Arena in Sydney is huge (for an Australian venue), seating approximately 21, 000 people. The stage was set at the end, shrouded by curtain, with a curved runway to one side and mini stage at the end. At 8:05pm, the crowd began chanting and clapping, waiting for the curtain to drop.
Not long after, the first licks of a guitar could be heard, the first beats of the drum, and from our vantage point, we could see Adam Lambert make his way up the stairs.
I just want to take a moment to say a few things about Adam. Firstly, I adore him. I am the kind of person who greatly dislikes any form of “reality” television. However, one of my secret pleasures is watching the auditions on American Idol. I enjoy watching people make asses of themselves on international television and usually, that’s all I watch. Once they move on to the actual competition, I tune out. That was until Adam Lambert came along.
On the 8th season of AI in 2009, Lambert auditioned with “Bohemian Rhapsody”, he only sang 5 lines, but that was enough. I was hooked, and I still am.
That being said, let’s get back to matters at hand.
I can’t tell you from memory, the songs they played, they were on stage for just over two and a half hours. Combining my sheer joy, my tears (of which there were many) and the whole being overwhelmed thing, it will most likely be several days until I can form a clear picture in my mind of the entire night.
Luckily, thanks to the promoter, Dainty Group, they have provided a copy of the set list via their Facebook, which I have included at the end of the article.
The entire arena sang along to some of their biggest hits. “Killer Queen”, “Fat Bottomed Girls”, “Somebody to Love”, “Radio Gaga”, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” and of course “Bohemian Rhapsody”.
Brian May performed one of the most incredible guitar solos I have ever seen, he literally made his guitar sing. It was something truly incredible to witness.
Roger Taylor and his son Rufus had a drum battle of epic proportions, and it’s clear to see the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in regards to musical talent. The two of them performed together before launching into “Under Pressure”.
As I said before, I did shed a few tears at the enormity of what I was seeing, but I was unprepared for the emotions I felt during “Bohemian Rhapsody”. I knew I had to capture it on video, and unfortunately I missed the beginning because I couldn’t see my phone clearly through my unshed tears.
Those unshed tears didn’t remain unshed for long. At the start of the third verse, Lambert stepped aside and pointed to the big screen as a recording of Freddie Mercury took over on vocals, and I bawled, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. For the remained of the song, Lambert and Mercury shared the stage. And it was magical.
Once the song came to an end, I was a mess, and Queen left the stage. There was thunderous applause filling the arena and it was over. Well, not quite. After a minute or so of applause and screaming and cheering from the audience, Lambert and Queen returned to the stage for their encore, and two of their biggest and best known songs, “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions”.
The stage lit up, the glitter cannons went off, Adam, Brian, Roger and John took centre stage for their applause, and it was done.
When I finally arrived home, I knew my dad would be waiting for me to call, despite the fact that it was well after midnight. He answered on the second ring and when he asked how it was all I could say was “Daddy, I did it. I saw Freddie” and I burst into tears again. We sat there together on the phone, just listening to each other’s sobs, and after ten or so minutes, my dad said goodnight and hung up.
I had grown up listening to their music, with a knowing that I would never get the chance to see it for myself. I never expected to be writing this, having actually done it.
Before I sign off, I need to make an acknowledgement. Last night would never have happened were it not for two of my closest friends, who conspired and schemed behind my back to purchase my ticket. To Clare and Camilla, you will never truly understand the gift you have given me and I will never, ever forget it. Thank You.

Live Review: Queen – 26th August 2014
– Allphones Arena, Sydney, Australia
 :w00twave:
Arriving at Sydney’s Allphones Arena last night, you had the instant feeling that you were about to witness something pretty epic and special. The stage was set out in the shape a an enormous letter Q, allowing for a multifunctional circular backdrop to lower throughout the show and a walkway out to the crowd for the band to deliver acoustic performances and for Lambert to strut his stuff in truly iconic and flamboyant bravura.
..... the singer led the band spectacularly last night in Sydney with hits that may not have been penned by him but that he made his own nonetheless. Dressed in black leather with golden studs and clutching a golden microphone, the singer’s fabulously camp strut up and down the decked out stage fit with laser beams and lights displayed a glam rocker in his element, jamming with one of the staples of the genre as if it were always his destiny to be doing so. His vocals rose above the 20,000 strong punters that flocked to the venue to catch the bands return to Australian shores since the The Works World Tour of April 1985.
The night was a solid hit fuelled spectacle with the set delivering the bands greatest hits and peppered with some tracks perhaps less well known by the casual Queen fans in the crowd. Everything that you could want in a show from this band was found at some point or another and Lambert’s seemingly effortless ability and confidence in delivering some of the most significant songs in history was evident throughout tracks like Another One Bites The Bust, I Want It All, Fat Bottomed Girl, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions.
Among the highlights of the night was Lambert’s extravagant performance of Killer Queen. Donning a camp, golden spiked and tasselled top and killer heels, the singer pranced around the stage every bit the glamourous entertainer that he has become known as over these past few years. Setting to the end of the runway to be met by a lavish purple velvet couch, the singer delivered a powerful performance of the track clutching a bottle of champagne and making quirky faces to the crowd and the band before he took back to the main stage and delivered an exceptional rendition of the bands roof-raising power ballad, Somebody To Love, hitting all the high notes and doing so with ease.
Last night’s performance was everything we could have expected from a Queen show and more. We were offered all of the bands major hits and a truly memorable performance from icons of the industry and one of the greatest vocalists around today. It was visually stunning, it was nostalgic and it was musically epic to its core.

QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT – A REVIEW
IMG_0151.JPGIf anything definitive came out of last nights Queen + Adam Lambert concert at All Phones, it’s this: I love Queen, and I love Adam Lambert. Just maybe not together.
The pairing of the young, glam-pop star and the remaining two members of the legendary rock band is not quite as natural a fit as their touring longevity might have led us all to believe. Despite his spectacular voice, Lambert struggles to front the group, seldom creating moments of magic and almost never managing to place his own stamp on the music. Relying heavily on vocal prowess, he belted his way through a surprisingly unremarkable set-list with a definite reliance on the fondest and most familiar hits in Queen’s substantial arsenal. Never seeming completely at home on stage, Lambert danced and strutted with a surprisingly overt self-consciousness, as if at some point he expected a choreographer to come out and give notes. Managing only one real show stopping moment all night (“Who Wants to Live Forever” – brilliant!) , next to arena veterans Brian May and Roger Taylor, he looked like an ensemble member dragged front and centre and ordered: “sing out Louise!” It was a very on the nose reminder that Lambert (32) has only been a star for 6 years now and remains a little bit too green to be placed in command of the show.
As for May and Taylor, the beloved remaining members of the original Queen line up, most moments of magic the concert delivered belonged to them. Also some inexplicable moments of tedium. Dr May – a bonafide Rock God – sang a touching tribute to Freddie Mercury (“Love of My Life”) with those members of the crowd who knew the words singing along. He later followed on with an extra-extended guitar solo that many used as a good chance to nip out for a pee and to buy another round! Taylor too struck one of the nights sparing moments of gold taking the lead vocals on “A Kind of Magic” – a genuine moment of rock’n’roll! – before following with an incredibly unimpressive “drum off” with his son Tiger. But then the night was full of such moments of polarity.
The nature of a Queen show in the 21st century is one that can realistically only inspire a certain kind of polarity. While many still show up to Queen ready to rock out, most of those that started out with the group in the 1970’s are now in their 50’s and 60’s. This not insubstantial group is more than happy to pay top dollar to see the group live and up close – they’d just rather sit down for the pleasure. Farewell mosh pit and hello to $350 for a seat on the floor – though this group spent most of the night on their feet anyway. The audiences energy was bright and luckily forgiving. The group successfully got away with a set list that jerked to a standstill every time Lambert left the stage and rarely managed to flow. and while any Queen concert has to pay tribute to the great Freddie simply be being, the difference between “rock concert” and “tribute show” grew decidedly grey in places as the night wore on. And over two and a half hours – “wore on” often was the operative expression.
To Lambert’s credit, when he did light up vocally he truly did become an inspiring sight. However, he’s not rock enough to sell a Queen song in spite of his extensive vocal gifts and not yet quite capable of holding a 20,000 seater in the palm of his hand. Is this the reason the set list steered clear of the bigger rock ballads? Or was this a selection just for Australian audiences? Who’s to say?
Queen now finds itself in a curious place where Taylor and May both have the magnetism and seemingly endless talent with which to create a gig of their own. But can they leave Queen behind and would audiences let them? Hopefully the wonderful Dr May is inspired from the rapturous reception he is receiving from audiences on this tour to return alone – or better still with his spectacular protege Kerry Ellis? This duo has recently won success with their acoustic concerts in the UK and Europe. Here’s hoping we’re next.
As for Adam Lambert, let’s hope a new album follows the tour and that we get him back by himself. If his exquisite live album Glam Nation is anything to go by, he’s far more impressive on his own terms.
So far as Queen + Adam Lambert is concerned – if you have tickets already, don’t despair. It’s a fun if uninspiring show with hints of magic. True, it never manages (as you might expect) to quite scratch the zeitgeist – but at least it tries. To those yet to buy tickets. Wait. There’s better shows to be had from these artists in years to come, and in the meantime you can always return to the record player where the Queen that was (and that glorious hunk of man Freddie Mercury) lives on eternal.

Awww, don't be sad, crocked. It's just a little bit negative.Every artist gets them. It's normal.
I'm wondering what are those old school Queen fans that are already resenting Adam for fronting Queen think about Lady Gaga?
They only have themselves to blame when they can't move on and are stuck in the past.Freddie isn't coming back and they'll never accept anybody else. :'( Queen never was one man's show anyway no matter how iconic freddie is/was.
EDIT: This board eats words. I wrote "it's normal" and it comes out It'smal.WTF?!
