From seoulmate, PF:
Adam accentuating the positive. :haha: Was the greenish paint, glow-in-the-dark? He had it in his hair and on his throat.

back in 1974 whilst a university student studying abroad in Paris, some friends and I got tickets to The Who in a GA exhibition hall venue. Arriving there, security had narrowed access to a funnel, which just wasnt' working. We ended up being pinned to a brick wall by the masses, only to be rescued by fellow-concert-goers who had climbed the wall and helped hoisting us up and over the obstruction. Once inside, there was lots of room to move around.
I'm still going to concerts, umpty-ump years later. Most of them of late had been of the prog rock or folk rock genre, leading to the inevitable long-haired hippie males in attendance and shortage of women. My husband's not fond of concert-going, but he'll humor me once in a while - he even suggested going to AI tour last summer.
I managed to snag the preferred parking for Starland, so we arrived at about 5:30. (There's a youtube up of the lines - I laughed to see hubby in a blue shirt and khaki pants on the "preferred" line shot.) It was a very mixed demographic - saw TALC up front, teens, older couples). The not-so-preffered line stretched out forever.
We were in early and found a spot about 4 rows in on the left side of the stage back of some short people. Then we started to be packed in. Lots of jostling, and the short people in front of me were pushed to the right by taller people. Oh well. At least I knew that Adam would work the stage - even if all I could see was head and shoulders when he came round.
Allison was good - Orianthi okay, but went on too long. Everyone waiting for Adam. When the remix of FYE came on, everyone was singing. Pretty much everything said about the W-B show could be repeated for this one. Although - for my ears, the helium effect was back, even for his speaking voice. It doesn't show up on the videos, but it was there in the venue about 70% of the time. Sometimes it seemed there were two layers of sound - when I could hear his unamplified voice and when it came over the speaker system. Someone on another forum was complaining about ears being blown out. My husband is experiencing something of a hearing loss - I think though it is from the teen girl screaming rather than the show itself.
Still have tickets for Borgata and for Musicfest (Bethlehem).
Such energy though - with the level of performance, the dancing, and yes the dancers, and the band.
