No one from the show has commented yet?? (I post this stuff in red, right?)
It was AMAZING! Best night of my life. I'm working on uploading a few vids now. I'm no pro at this, so please excuse some of the quality and some shaking. I tried to get a few whole songs, but I also wanted to watch him without having to focus on my camera too much...did I mention it was the best night ever?! Unfortunately, I don't think my pics will turn out right. Will update as I can :)
Lots of people and they weren't as pushy as I thought they'd be while Adam was on. It was also SUPER hot but they let us line up inside! Most people didn't show up until a couple hours prior to the show, which was unbelievable. I ended up there at around 1:40, within the first 50-70 people in line :)
One encore, only "Mad World" and I DID love it
Oh yes, a bit of the Glambulge tonight - have some of that, and Brooke/Adam's dancing on video!

I was there!

That was awesome! I got there at 4:30 and was number 128. The first 200 got early entry. I was 4 people back, from the front of the stage right in the middle! Alli was great but she needs to be careful, she's gonna wreck her voice yell-singing every night. I know it's rock and roll and all that, and her technique is great like half the time, but the other half the time she's scream singing, which is really rough on the voice. The sound was wacky and she got drowned out by her band too. Ori was boring, also got drowned out by her band. I didn't understand a word she said.

Adam showed up and he seemed surprised by the reception. The audience was super inviting, high excitement. He looked geniunely thrilled that they wouldn't stop screaming. This concert didn't have the peaks and valleys he put into it since the crowd was so excited and just wanted to dance. He was grinning during WWFM when everyone yelled "I'M A FREAK BUT THANKS FOR LOVING ME"- I didn't sense any heartbreak from the acoustic set. He mirrors the audience and tonight's audience wanted to party. Adam looked up and down and said he liked that there were three tiered balconies. The place felt bigger than it was. He kept pointing up at them. He came back to this tall gay guy in the middle several times and flirted with him.

He was clearly conserving his voice. ROF was mostly falsetto. Sleepwalker was more subdued. However, SFW was HIGHER than he normally goes. He full-voiced the end of WWFM, probably because of the crazy energy in the room. He was having a blast up there tonight, giggling with his dancers and messing with Monte and Tommy. He tried to fluff Tommy's hair again during the IIHY intro, and then Tommy rubbed his chest like a kitten. I think everybody on the bus, including Adam, has a cold. Adam's voice sounded outstanding, but he was more in his nose and cheekbones than usual.

Tonight's IIHY introductions were HILARIOUS. Seriously guys, go watch them. He did something funny with all of them tonight. And I caught Longineu's drumstick!

  {{goes to bed in exhaustion}} I'll be at the 930 tomorrow as well.

Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, and the Glam Nation Tour 2010
MONDAY, JUNE 28, 2010

http://filmigirl.blogspot.com/2010/06/adam...a-and-glam.html

For those of you who don’t keep up with American popular culture, let me preface this with a little explanation of who Adam Lambert is. He came to America’s attention during season 8 American Idol, where he won our hearts with his flamboyant performances and killer vocal chops. America actually doesn’t produce that many rock stars any more – we prefer our musicians to stand around and at least pretend to be able to play an instrument. Adam Lambert is more interested in thrusting his pelvis in your face than in badly strumming a guitar or pretending to write his own songs and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

In the year since he came in second place on American Idol, Adam has expanded on his public persona and released his first album. I’m going to be honest and say that his album is a mixed bag. It plays like there was a different producer for every song, which is pretty much the case, and wanders from dance-pop to ballad to power-pop without much flow. I was kind of worried that the stage show would have the same MPD feel but those fears proved to be unfounded – the Glam Nation Tour is a seamless presentation of Adam’s best songs unified by his firm sense of style and showmanship, and not a little help from his music director Monte Pittman.

But I’ll get to that in a bit.

There are two opening acts on the Glam Nation Tour. Up first was American Idol season 8 fourth place finisher Allison Iraheta. I saw Allison last year during the Idol tour and while I enjoyed her set it didn’t leave a lasting impression. Well, she has grown a lot in the last year. Backed by a fantastic band (including Valerie Franco on drums, David Immerman on guitar, an awesome woman on bass whose name I couldn’t figure out, and a cute blond guy on keys that my sister and I kept joking was exactly Adam’s type), Allison performed an upbeat and high-energy set of incredibly catchy pop-rock. (You can check out her debut single here. It’s produced by Max Martin, naturally!)

Allison owned the stage. Dressed in a black dress, black, patterned stockings, black legwarmers, and a pair of glittery wedges, she was magnetic! Allison also owned her songs. She had clearly worked hard since the album came out to rid her songs of any trace of a sterile studio taint. And that is no small accomplishment. Just think of Xtina’s latest outing, no matter how nicely Xtina sings, there is always the whiff of manufactured pop around her. Lots of pretty girls can sing but only a handful have what it takes to become a real star and I think Allison might just make it.

Almost anything would have disappointing after Allison’s performance but Orianthi was a real let down. She is an amazing guitarist but seriously lacking in both charisma and in musical taste. Orianthi played a technically good set of very mundane rock music. My sister and I ended up dividing our attention between the drunk woman arguing with a bouncer to our left (she was eventually kicked out) and Orianthi’s back-up guitarist Brian Chiusano attempting to flirt with the 17-year old girl standing to our right. (And to be fair, she was pretty smoking for a 17-year old).

And then it was time for the main event – and it was well worth the wait! Adam, his band, and his dancers made their appearance to “For Your Entertainment” and then launched right into the set which included both cuts from For Your Entertainment and classics from American Idol. Adam very obviously loves performing live. He strutted through “Strut,” sexed up his dancers in “Fever,” and crooned like an angel for “Whataya Want from Me.” He mostly kept his emotions in line with the songs he was singing but every now and then I would catch this giant grin on his face that made my heart melt. How can you not get swept up with somebody so enthusiastic and earnest?

Like I mentioned before, the disjointed feel of the album was nowhere to be found. I think we can thank Monte Pittman for helping to create a unified musical feel for the show - very rock but a rich 70s style rock and not the achingly dull, drab rock of the 90s and 00s (you know the kind I mean - where it sounds like they cut out all the high frequencies.) "Strut" popped on stage, the flabby "Surefire Winners" was booted into life, and "Sleepwalker" was given a real epic quality missing from the tinny studio version. The Gaga-produced "Fever" (one of my favorite tracks on the album) was also given a different, more organic feel. I'm really optimistic about Adam's second album and I hope he does more of this organic 70s rock style (a la "Music Again") instead of the dancey pop that was emphasized for the singles on his first album.

Except for Orianthi, the whole evening was blissfully free of irony and pretension. Adam Lambert is a performer and he is going to give you a show, whether you like it or not. You just know that if he hadn’t been on Idol, he would doing the exact same thing on a smaller budget and to smaller crowds. With every pelvis thrust, every flash of his blue-green eyes, every sky-high note, Adam puts himself out there for the crowd – for our entertainment.

And just one more note, Adam Lambert is gay. Which means, it made me so happy to see how diverse the crowd was. There were older people, younger people, black people, white people, disabled people, middle-class people, and lower class people. And nobody had a problem with the fact that he was overtly sexual. (And also seemed to have a crush on his bass player but that is another story.) America is very skittish about any kind of sexuality other than the vanilla missionary-style hetero variety, and I’m glad we can get over it enough to embrace the very gay, very sexual, very amazing Adam Lambert.

I did have a great view and I shared it with some great people we met in line, also. Three lovely ladies from three different generations :) (plus their two friends later on)! We didn't leave each other since we got in line at 1:40. Then we became friendly with another woman and her friend - and she helped us keep our positions and not let those jerks push through us. There was one woman that tried and we kinda started to yell but luckily, that was right between two songs and it only lasted a few seconds...regardless, this was an awesome experience.
This was GA!! We were maybe about 10 feet away from the stage. He looked so wonderful, up close. Strangely, people weren't too bad in the crowd as far as pushing and jumping goes.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to offer that video. I was busy only WATCHING him and it was so much more engergetic than I thought it would be. It seems kinda...tame when I watch videos online, but I realized yesterday that it was so powerful and the crowd went nuts with this song. Not having a camera to distract me was so good for me because I was able to just feel him in his performance. Same with WWFM and the MW encore.

My friend also took videos last night of all three acts, so I don't know how much of Adam she got. We MIGHT be able to find SFW or WWFM for you

Concert recap: Adam Lambert's Glam Nation show in Baltimore

The event: The Glam Nation tour (with Adam Lambert and openers Orianthi and Allison Iraheta) at Rams Head Live in Baltimore.

The crowd: A sold-out audience (Rams Head Live holds 1,875).

The venue: Rams Head Live is a small, intimate venue with a raised stage, standing-room only on the first level, and two tiers of curving balconies.

Bridging the generation gap: Waiting in line for the doors to open were Selina Scheubrook, 46, her daughter Amanda Scheubrook, 13, and Amanda's friend Breea Wallace, 13. Although Amanda's hair is pinkish-red like Allison's, she was there for Adam, wearing a colorful outfit that included ripped jeans and a rainbow of bracelets.
"I always dress like this," she said. "I don't like being normal."

Her mother wasn't there to just chaperone -- she's an Adam fan as well.

"It's just good music," Scheubrook said. "Not that head-banging stuff."

All glammed up: Joanne Jackson, 68, and her niece, April Odendahl, 43, were both decked out in black clothing, black nail polish, eyeliner, artificial replicas of the eye-shaped tattoo Adam has on his wrist and, of course, lots of glitter. On Saturday night, they were in the front row for his Atlantic City show. And on Wednesday, they'll be seeing him again in Norfolk, Va.

"With Adam, you can't go to just one show," said Jackson. "It's not enough. He's precious and adorable, and his vocals are out of this world."

Yet both were concerned that being on the road might be tiring him out.

"If he wants to just sit down with us and not sing a note, we'd be fine with that," said Odendahl.

Their Idol: Josh Jacoby was at the show to celebrate his 21st birthday with friends Andre Hinds, 23, Anwar Thomas, 25, and Leo Williams, 21.

The perfect birthday present? Lambert singing Mad World, the song that first made them fans during his season of American Idol.

"He better sing it," said Thomas. "Right to me."

And now, for the main event: The opening acts complete, the crew set the scene for Lambert, unveiling a staircase down the middle of the stage. Half an hour later, Lambert was walking down it in a glittering top hat, leather pants and a purple coat with streamers hanging from the sleeves for opening song, Voodoo.

Burning up: Lambert's first cover of the night, his cleverly twisted version of Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire, coincided with his first costume change -- a black shirt with glittering accents and several sparkling necklaces.

Up next was an equally hot song, Fever, which began with Lambert caressing and then playfully shooing away his bassist before being flanked by his dancers. The brightening of the lights showed that his hair was, in fact, covered with glitter.

Love songs: Another costume change (into a long black coat with shimmering embellishments) set the tone for unconventional love song Sleepwalker.

"That song is about how relationships, sometimes they suck," Lambert explained. "And sometimes, they make you ask questions, like this one."

Cue Whataya Want From Me.

Stripped down: For the moody Whataya Want From Me, Lambert toned things down with an acoustic version of the song and then transitioned into a piano-backed rendition of Soaked. He ended the song a cappella, inspiring a fan to yell, "Work it, Adam!"

"That song, it really takes it out of me" Lambert remarked afterward.

Celebration: The serious stuff out of the way, Lambert changed into his final outfit of the night (black pants with glittery blue stripes and a matching sleeveless shirt with a sparkling 'A' on the back) and headed into a slew of upbeat songs.

His dance party ended with closing song and new single If I Had You, rainbow-colored lasers fanning out over the audience.

"This song is what this is all about," he said. "No matter how much money, fame, fortune and sex you have, it does not mean a thing if you're not connected in love."

Encore: The audience screamed for more and got their wish, as did Jacoby and his friends -- Lambert returned to the stage for an encore performance of Mad World.

While parking before the show, Gemma Hoskins, 57, wrecked the back of her car after backing into a concrete wall. But the show, she said, was worth it.

"I loved it," she said. "I'd see him again in a second. He's the most entertaining artist I've ever seen."

GREAT review of the Baltimore concert and the Glam Nation Tour in General. This reporter "get's it". Give the site some hits. There are gorgeous pics and an embedded video of 'Soaked', too:
5 Reasons Why Adam Lambert’s Glam Nation Tour Is A Must-See
June 29, 2010 by TJ

He came. He saw. He covered the stage in glitter.

On Sunday night (June 27), Adam Lambert played to a sold-out crowd at Baltimore’s Rams Head Live as part of his first headlining trek around North America dubbed the Glam Nation tour.

The sometimes controversial, all the time intriguing glamster took fans on a laser and leather-filled ride through his debut album, For Your Entertainment. Lambert used the album’s title-track to mercilessly tease the crowd of mostly women of various ages and glitter coverage into swooning, screaming fangirls.
When he finally appeared — tall, dressed very Boy George-esque with a top hat perched on his head, simply gorgeous — at the top of a staircase directly in the middle of the stage, the screams grew deafening.
The screams never died down even as Adam traded high-energy tracks like “Fever,” “Strut,” and “Music Again” for soul-stirring — scratch that — soul-slaying easy listening numbers like “Sleepwalker” and “Soaked.”

The Glam Nation tour is a must-see. Here are five reasons why:

1. The opening acts, Allison Iraheta and Orianthi: We weren’t forced to yawn through a bunch of lame show-starters. These ladies put on rockin’ performances and even showed what Girl Power is all about when Orianthi joined Allison onstage for “Don’t Waste The Pretty.” Allison has blossomed immensely since her time on American Idol. She delivered her performance with confidence and fire. Orianthi, who was handpicked by Michael Jackson to play on his ill-fated This Is It tour, easily shamed male rockers twice her age with her guitar skills.

2. It’s not just a concert, it’s a chance to play dress-up: Fans took advantage of the Glam Nation’s number one unwritten rule which states you should show up in you most outrageously glam gear. Walking through the venue, I spotted men in tight leather, women in sequins leggings, black eyeliner for days, and buckets worth of glitter.

3. Girls — of all ages — just want to have fun: Glamberts are often accused of being a bunch of middle-aged women. Nothing wrong with that, but you’d be very, very wrong to assume that’s where Adam’s appeal ends. Girls of all ages were at the show to get their glam on. The best part: seeing a girl who had to be around 16 years old with her mother and grandmother all dancing and singing together.

4. The covers songs: Each act performed at least one kick-ass cover song: Allison took on Pat Benatar’s “Heartbreaker,” Orianthi and her guitar shredded through Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy,” and Adam gave a scorching rendition of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.” (*Tears!* *Sadness!* Baltimore didn’t get Adam’s much-buzzed about “Whole Lotta Love” cover.)

5. THAT VOICE: Sure, you’ve heard Adam’s voice on TV and on the radio, but there’s nothing like hearing it live. Trying to explain it is a waste of time. Watch the video of “Soaked” above. Take how great it sounds there (minus the screaming fans) and multiply it by five. You might come close.
