Tampa Bay Rays rally in ninth, win it in 10th against Los Angeles Angels, 4-3

ST. PETERSBURG — The Rays just weren't going to let another one get away.
Not with the Yankees winning again. Not after losing a two-run lead in the seventh with ace David Price on the mound. Not this time.
So they rallied with two outs and nothing doing in the ninth to tie, then rallied again in the 10th to score a painfully thrilling 4-3 victory Saturday over the Angels.
"My goodness, what a win," manager Joe Maddon said. "That is the most grinded-out win I think I've been associated here with ever.
"I think it rivals something in medieval times. I think I read about that game in The Pillars of the Earth, by Ken Follett. Years ago it happened, and we just happened to replay it tonight. Torture. Absolute torture."
The winning run scored on an errant throw by Angels shortstop Brandon Wood on Willy Aybar's grounder up the middle with two outs in the 10th, before an Adam Lambert concert-night crowd of 31,896 (larger than for any of the Yankees games) at Tropicana Field, and no local TV audience.
MY guess is PLUS 10,000 with the wristbands that were waiting outside, thats more than 42.000 holy shite

Someone may have answered this by now...I'm too tired to read the whole thread! 31,896 was the total attendance for the game (the article is emphasizing that Adam gave them even higher attendance than the Yankee's game...this is huge, because the Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays are neck-in-neck for first place and those games had HUGE attendance numbers).
Whatever the quantity of wristbands sold (be it 10K, 4K, whatever), those wristband fans must have a game ticket, they are NOT in addition to the attendance figure. Wristbands were required for field-access, but you still had to have game ticket to enter the stadium. When you heard of people with wristbands lined up outside, they meant outside of the seating/field area but still within the stadium.
I went to check out the line situation at about the 4th inning. The line of Glamberts was huge and growing fast, and the stadium people didn't quite know how to handle it. The line was blocking food vendor booths, food vendors were complaining and Rays fans were  at those crazy fans lining up so early and missing THE GAME :fear: (shock and horror that we weren't interested in the game :haha: )
There are no turnstiles to count people at Tropicana field. They scan barcodes on your ticket when you enter. No counting is done as people exit. So there's no way really to have an accurate number of how many people stayed for the concert. Lots of people did leave, I saw them exiting when I went with my group for a smoke break, but it was still a HUGE crowd for BB!
