There is no reason why QAL must appear on a week that they are featuring Queen music...x factor doesn't always, or even generally match its guest performers with the theme....I doubt they are going to have a big band performer on next week during big band week (unless Tony Bennett and Gaga appear)...I doubt they're gonna move 1D bc their album drops next week...QAL will either be Nov 16 (a few days after their album drops, but for QAL better that the album already be available when they perform rather than being released 2 days later) or sometime later in the season....if the appearance is to promo Queen Forever, I'm sure the label will have a TV commercial ready to run during the broadcast and they can simply say QAL appearing later in the season or next week or whatever...given that Sam and 1D already announced I think it is clear QAL not performing Nov. 9...my money is on Nov. 16

I don't think it was "just a rumor" at all....I think some fans went a little nutso thinking that they would appear next week after they changed the theme to Q v MJ (given that the guest performers had already been announced and Brian will be in the USA for most of the week)....but given 1) Jamesin Rehab had 8 names on his list, all of which made sense and 2 of which have now been confirmed to perform, 2) he is a good source, 3) Queen Forever is being released Nov. 10/11, 4) UK/Europe QAL tour, 5) Adam's bizarre follow of x factor UK twitter account a few weeks ago, and 6) Shosh confirmation that one more of her clients appearing this season, its a pretty good bet that QAL booked to appear at some point. I don't think the list of performers was a mistake or a misunderstanding. Now, maybe it fell through; maybe Brian and Roger cancelled after the show switched from a full episode of just Queen music to a Q v MJ theme; maybe some other unexpected conflict. Or more likely, they will be performing on some other week. If not, c'est la vie.

How were you able to just flip it off that it was just a rumor? There was a lot of buzz surrounding this to be "just" a rumor with credible people involved.

The MJ thing being added might have been a tipping point for Brian and Roger. Roger, when interviewed, had alluded to the fact that the MJ estate were very hard to deal with and dragged their feet about releasing songs that MJ and Freddie recorded. There were two of them and only one was released. Maybe, and that is a big maybe and speculation on my part, the estate had demands for IdolUk too and Roger and Brian did not want to meet said demands.

There could be a myriad of reasons that they will not perform but to dismiss it as a simple rumor? Well, I don't think so.

One Direction's album is being released on November 17, that's not next Monday.

And yeah, One Direction are Sam Smith are set for this coming weekend, the theme really doesn't matter.

I think the only other edge artist that could be a candidate for a performance is Ariana Grande. Hot young popstar promoting her album and her third single.

Until it's confirmed by Adam/Queen's camp OR the OFFICIAL X Factor themselves? Yeah, I'd say it's a safe bet that it's just rumor. And now we know that it was posted on Brian's site that they won't be on.

Sounds to me like Brian is downplaying their role in XFactor. He has turned down rumours of playing this weekend. Some fans just presumed (me too haha) based on the type of theme. I don't think Brian ever said at all. Because obviousley with all the leaked artists performing. I am thinking 1D performance well be reserved for the finalie. Queen and Adam are more of an arena type performers. Being in Studio prob doesen't suit them. I read the finalie is going to be at Wembley Arena or the O2 sounds good. So I'm pretty optimistic, they have been booked for the finalie, makes sense for them.
