I just saw this in yahoo home page! I'm sorry if it's been posted already!

ABC says it has received complaints on Lambert

NEW YORK – ABC says more than 1,500 people have called to complain about Adam Lambert's sexually charged performance at the American Music Awards.
The network characterized the response as "moderate." Before his performance, Lambert said that he wanted to break down a double standard that existed where female performers are often sexually provocative while men don't do it that often.
There were also hostile comments online about the "American Idol" glam rocker who sang his new song "For Your Entertainment" on Sunday's show with an elaborate, S&M-themed production. Lambert fondled a dancer, led another around on a leash, had a dancer briefly stick his head in Lambert's crotch and kissed a man

Musicians We're Thankful For
Posted November 23, 2009
In spirit of the Thanksgiving season, we want to give our thanks to a special group of people who have done their best to make our lives better. Are we talking about parents? Not this time. Teachers? Nope. Friends? They're good and all, but no. We're talking about musicians—that often-neglected group that never seems to get the props they deserve (well, if you don't count the Grammys, the AMAs, the VMAs, the CMAs, the LAMAs, the WMAs, the CMTMAs, the IMAs, the NAMAs, the TMAs, the SDMAs, and maybe a few other MAs).

To show our appreciation, we've put together a list of artists who we feel have made undeniable, singular contributions to music, and to life in general, really. Had these innovators never existed, the world as we know it would be a lot less interesting. Without further ado, SparkNotes gives a warm Thanksgiving THANK YOU to:
- Chuck Berry, for creating the template for three chord, good times rock n’ roll. Without Chuck, there would be no Rolling Stones.

- Ray Charles, for putting some jump n’ jive into soul music and paving the way for modern R&B. Without Ray, there would be no Maxwell. (Well, maybe that wouldn't be so bad.)

- Bo Diddley, for being rock’s first true weirdo, with his reverb-drenched guitar playing and homemade instruments.

- Milli Vanilli, for beginning the long, storied tradition of lip-syncing embarrassments with “Girl You Know It's True.”

- Prince, for turning the word “you” into the letter “U." And for trying to do the same with "I" and "Eye."

- R. Kelly, for demonstrating that you don’t actually need melodies in R&B—you can just sing the words to a soap opera about closets, priests, and midgets and it can be crazy/brilliant.

- Aphex Twin, for pioneering the field of chill-out electronic music. Perfect music for convalescing after a turkey-induced stomach sickness.

- Village People, for proving that sometimes the wardrobe is more important than the music. (Lady Gaga totally gets this.)

- Little Richard, for introducing hellfire screaming to rock music.

- Public Enemy, for demonstrating you can be political without diluting the fun in hip-hop.

- Britney Spears, for setting the bar incredibly low for live performances, and for general public behavior as well.

- Elvis Presley, for being the first rocker parents loved to hate.

- Adam Lambert, for making American Idol exciting for the first time in years. Even though your album cover looks like Lisa Frank meets “The Final Countdown,” we love you, Adam.

- Janet Jackson, for proving that talent can run in the family.

- Ashlee Simpson, for proving that lack of talent can also run in the family.

Rut Roh! The Parents Council just spanked Adam (and I'm sure he liked it! :P )

http://www.parentstv.org/PTC/news/release/2009/1123.asp

PTC Slams ABC for Tasteless American Music Awards Broadcast

LOS ANGELES (November 23, 2009) The Parents Television Council responded to last night's broadcast of the American Music Awards on ABC calling the show tasteless and vulgar and asking members to contact ABC, Dick Clark Productions, and the show's advertisers with complaints. In those areas where the explicit material aired before 10 pm, PTC members are being urged to contact the FCC.

While the costumes and profanity throughout the broadcast were enough to alarm any reasonable parent, the final performance by Adam Lambert of American Idol fame included everything from S&M bondage with the singer leading leather-clad male performers around on leashes to another dancer simulating oral sex on Lambert. The show aired live at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT and was given a TV-14 L rating. The oral sex scene was edited out of the West Coast broadcast.

American teenagers and especially teenaged girls are literally under siege by the entertainment media. It is outrageous that children today cannot watch a televised awards program for an industry that is built squarely on their backs. Teens comprise a huge portion of music sales, yet this is how they are treated? It is beyond contemptible, said PTC President Tim Winter.

Last night's American Music Awards broadcast was nothing short of tasteless and vulgar. Adam Lambert, the second-place finisher in last season's American Idol competition, chose to treat American families to simulated oral sex and other demeaning behavior. ABC and Dick Clark Productions had every reason to know what to expect, as Lambert himself proclaimed that his performance would be very sexy and would include leather and chains. But the producers and the network chose to bury their heads in the sand.

The Parents Television Council is calling on its members in areas where the oral sex scene aired before 10 pm to contact the FCC to complain about last night's show, which in no way fulfills ABC-affiliated stations public interest obligation for free use of the public broadcast airwaves. PTC is also asking its members to contact ABC stations and Dick Clark Productions directly to voice their concerns about the graphic nature of the show.

In addition, every corporate sponsor of the American Music Awards can rest assured that they will hear from the Parents Television Council and its members. Advertisers spend billions of dollars on television every year to influence viewer behavior. Their behavior influence does not cease when the commercial break is over. Every advertiser will be held accountable for underwriting the AMA program's content, including the simulated oral sex scene, Winter concluded.

Some who have commented on the performance are saddened that Adam Lambert focused more on spectacle than on his admittedly spectacular vocal skills. For any of us who sat through the season of American Idol, he really had nothing more to prove about his voice. However, many of us wondered if he could move beyond the restrictions of the American Idol competition and "compete in the big leagues" with the likes of Lady Gaga? There are a number of successful competitors who have thus far failed when faced with "going it alone" outside the show. We now have our answer to that question which is an emphatic yes. On the night that Gaga smashed glass and played on a burning piano while violinists suffered in gas masks, Adam Lambert was still the talk of the show. If part of successful performance is riveting an audience's attention, he has graduated into the big leagues.

LOL. One website here in Finland reported how an average AMA watcher is 17-18 years old and probably hundreds of thousands 10-12 years old children have seen him done what he did.. the best/worst thing was they mentioned him spanking the audience (whut?) and almost made love to another man (whut?) !! I really don't know what to think. Ssssseriously. I really hope they don't get paid for that. I *hate* media people that spread false information.

I needed to enlighten my mood elsewhere.. thankfully I found an article from another website that had very supportive comments under the article. <3 feeling much better now.

Just watching ET and they mentioned it but it was just a matter-of-fact comment about JLo's fall and his fall and then, of course, about the kiss ... but nothing OTT. I think the entertainment community and media are much more 'loose' about this than some of us are because they know this is how things work and it's just the entertainment world and performers doing their 'thang.'

Just saw Adam on ET Canada, they showed the kiss and the pseudo fellation and asked ist it too much for TV?

Adam said to Brian Mulroney that: it is intertainment and people where supposed to go: I just can't believe he just did that!

No big deal here, I have seen Gerard Depardieu (French movie star, he was in Green Card) twice in films walking around in full front nudity on prime time TV and many others! This is what I like about European movies as it is like in real life, nobody unlike in US films, has a wild night of love making and wake up with their bras, panties, or underwears still on! ::roll::

He lead "Extra" tonight. They played some of "FYE" and talked to him backstage. Reporter said it was the sexiest performance she's ever seen at the AMA's and Adam said "Thank You!" and she asked him what he was thinking about when he performed and he said something like "It's pretty obvious what I was thinking about" and then whispered something in her ear. ::devil::

I'm watching Leno waiting to see Gaga perform and he just went on and on about Adam and his performance. Actually it was really funny. He was talking about the kiss and you know how he tells them to show a clip. They showed it and then had Leno dressed up as Tommy. ::roll::
