Adam Lambert speaks: Our initial impressions from our interview
Seldom have we talked to an artist at this early a stage in his career who is as surefooted as Adam Lambert. We interviewed him today for MSN.com. We'll link to that interview when it goes live—and add more content to it—but our initial impression was this is an artist whose whole life had been leading to this moment. And he knows it. He's sure to have some meltdown moments along the way, when the sleep deprivation and jet lag kick in, but he is smart enough to know that this is what he's been working for. You don't bitch about the long hours when they are all in service of selling Brand Lambert.
Lambert is both confident and humbled by his major label debut, "For Your Entertainment," out Nov. 23. He knows there are a lot of expectations riding on him, and he hopes he can live up to them. He feels he's made the record that he wanted to make—given some tight time constraints. I asked if he was one of those artists that we'd hear disavow the album a year from now and he assured me that would not be the case. One of his few regrets is that he ultimately did not, as had been reported early on, get to work with producer RedOne on "For Your Entertainment."
There are some artists who wear their fame well. And our premature guess is that Lambert will be one of them. A journalist friend of ours told us about meeting Lambert backstage during the "American Idol" tour stop in Washington, D.C. As gracious and kind as he was to her and her daughters, he was even more so in the generous amount of time he spent with a sick child who had been brought backstage to meet him. I asked him about that night and he said that performing in "Wicked" had taught him a lot about dealing with people and how the night a particular fan sees you is the only night that matters to him or her. The fact that you're done the same thing hundreds of nights before does not matter at all. It's about being in the moment.
We hadn't loved the two songs we'd heard from Lambert so far: " Time for Miracles" from "2012" and first single "For Your Entertainment," but we've now gotten to hear the album and it holds together well. He can really sing, as anyone who has watched him on "Idol" knows, and his fans from that show aren't going to be disappointed by the sides of himself on display on "FYE." To his credit, he seems very serious about staying true to himself. He knows he may not go over well in some red states, but it's much more important to him that he can sleep at night with the choices he's made.
More in coming days as the album's release gets closer. Plus what he really thinks about his kitschy album cover, Lady GaGa and his "Idol" colleagues.
Adam Lambert For Your Entertainment
Release Date: November 23, 2009
More than any past American Idol "great," Adam Lambert has the chance to maintain his current level of idolatry in the long term. His sex appeal is as undeniable as his singing talent, and unlike Idol veterans like Clay Aiken or Ryan Seacrest, Lambert will avoid late night jokes about his sexuality by already being out of the closet.
While it's still difficult to measure Lambert's place in American pop culture or in fighting homophobia, his voice is pretty difficult to question. Less a Clay Aiken screech than a Robert Plant wail, Lambert has enough talent to make his debut album For Your Entertainment more than a teeny-bopper flavor of the month. Other than Kelly Clarkson, few American Idol veterans have been able to maintain their unironic appeal to music fans beyond high school. Lambert, the cover boy of this month's Details magazine, may be hitting the zeitgest in a particularly poignant way.

I don't know whether this has been posted already but I'm just reading my issue of In Style and Adam is in it again on p126. He's 23rd on the Style 100 list. They talk about his favorite eyeliner and there's a pic of Adam from the YH Awards.
I don't have a way to scan it.

Adam Lambert Stuns with New CD
Written by: Morgan Ribar
'American Idol' runner up Adam Lambert comes out with his eclectic first CD next week!
Adam Lambert may have lost to Kris Allen in Season 8 of 'American Idol' but what did he really lose? He was on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, and has been a constant for media attention since the show ended.
In his new CD, "For Your Entertainment" the openly gay singer has set out to constantly wow his listeners with his eclectic sense of style. Set for release on Nov. 23 his album has it all: glam rock, classic rock and contemporary pop that will keep his viewers…well, entertained for one.
Lambert, who merited the nickname, "Glambert" was one of the most talked about performers in 'American Idol' history for his different sense of style. Even though he may have lost the biggest competition of his life, he has gained a wider following than anyone could have imagined.
Look for his album, "For Your Entertainment" out in stores November 23.

Oh funny story about how I got this USA Today.
I went all over looking for one after work and had no luck. Then I remembered my dad's get them at his business. He owns a restaurant.
So I called him and asked if he had any left from today. Lucky me, he had one piece. The Life section from today. He picked it up and said, "Oh, this one with the werewolf guy on the front?" My dad knows nothing about Adam. He thought Adam was Robert Pattinson.
My mom was there at his restaurant and she brought it home to me.

Adam Lambert: Hot Hollywood Hunk
(awwwww :kradam: )
Tending to press duties as he gears up for his debut album’s release, Adam Lambert attended US Weekly’s Hot Hollywood 2009 Party in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (November 18).
Held at Voyeur, the “American Idol hunk was all glammed up as he mingled with fellow guests including Kris Allen and Katy O’Connell.
Meanwhile, it was just recently announced that “Good Morning America” has nabbed Mr Lambert for “a live, free, intimate concert on November 25 as part of GMA’s Fall Concert Series.”
The gig comes two days after his much anticipated debut album, “For Your Entertainment,” hits store shelves on Monday, November 23.
Enjoy the pictures of Adam Lambert (and Kris Allen) at the Hot Hollywood party (November 18).
(are those the jeans from the ponytail pic that had to be extended for LA? )

(it looks like Katy really missed Adam, lol)

In the December 4th issue of Entertainment Weekly on pg20, there's a huge pic of Adam and the male dancer in front of the mirror door from the AMA's. They rate the AMA performances and Adam's is rated the lowest at C- but he got the biggest pic. The blurb isn't so bad either. I don't have a scanner.

I'm copying this entry from a People thread. Apparently it is only in the print magazine and not on line. It would be lovely to get it scanned... From responses in that thread, it seems that 3.5 stars is amazing when coming from People.
People magazine review:
"Was there ever any doubt that Aam Lambert's post Idol debut woul dbeat Kris Allen's?"
They gave it 3 and a half stars. They gave Kris' 2 and a half.
