A radio show is promoted by a radio station as "their" event. Lots of different artists cobbled together, usually with only a couple of songs each. That's why it's a gamble to predict how much time your artist will have on stage. The "jingle balls" or holiday shows are typical - really, with 12 acts, waiting to hear your favorite artist can be really painful. Adam seems to have only booked radio shows with maybe 3 or 4 performers in more intimate venues for the holiday season.
And no, the shows are not broadcast live, but some snippets may show up on the station's website.
