I think I'm lucking out of this snowstorm which looks to be tracking up the coast, rather than coming in from the west.

Lying in bed, warm and cozy, watching the snow fall. Doesn't look blizzardy yet.

We were supposed to be on the light side of the storm, maybe 3". We seem to be headed for at least two feet not. Restaurants which would normally be advertising to come on down and watch the snow, have shut down "for the safety of our employees and our guests." My oldest daughter had been in Florida for a girls' week just called. Her flight to Providence, RI via Charlotte was canceled and the replacement flight via Philly was also, while she was at the airport, A helpful soul suggested checking out a direct flight to Boston, which was still open. So, now she is home, but without the requisite bread and milk. (I should have gotten wine, but wasn't anticipating being in a blizzard.)

Everyone stay safe and warm that is in the path of the snow. We had ice in Missouri this week and I spent 4 hours trying to get home from work. Normally a 30 minute trip. Mother nature will always win. ::heart::

Looked out my door and see drifts up to my waist! My living room terrace has snow up to my thighs. Main highways are closed. Guess i won't be going anywhere tomorrow, which is fine with me!

That's exactly what I was thinking!
You mean you didn't want to shovel out from 30 inches of snow? Why would you rather be in Mexico than cold, wet, and tired? I mean, really?

I'm not sure what our "official" number for snow is. Depends on the drifting, I guess. My back deck goes from clear to a couple of feet. The front of the house was impressive. Thankfully, our son stepped up to handle the shoveling and snow-blowing duties.'
I didn't get to do the panic-food-shopping thing on Friday, as I had work, and we were only slated to have a few inches. The usual Saturday trek was out of the question, so that left the foraging for today (Sunday), I so regret not taking a picture. I got the last loaf of Wonder Bread. And there was no "normal" milk of any sort whatsoever. No, skim, 1%, 2%, whole. Nada. Just a slew of people staring at empty shelves.

The drifts were crazy! My back terrace (facing east) had about 6 inches. My living room terrace (facing south) had snow to my upper thigh. Some drifts in the front were chest high. Thankfully I had gone shopping Tuesday and picked up lots of food, and went to the library so I was set.
Hope everyone was safe and is now shoveled out!

How great is this?!? And what a wonderful memory for these kids.

Gainesville Police get report of kids playing too loudly and respond....

The police return with a special surprise. In a world filled with stories about the bad things police do and the full of themselves athletes, how great to see the other side. Some heroes are police and basketball players....
