Sad news coming out of season 2. Rickey Smith, who placed 8th on that season, and is probably best known for saying, "Hercules, Hercules, Hercules!", was killed in a car accident late last night, by a drunk driver. He was only 36 years old, and 5 days shy of his 37th birthday. He leaves behind a fiancee named Candi, and a 2 year old daughter named Ava. :(

Just saw on Atop that Adam started following some Dutch Eurovision guy which led me to an article (he's bi) which led me to another article on Israeli Hovi Star, who is also in the finals apparently.

All that to say, I really liked Hovi Star's voice....they had a video of his song entry. Higher pitched, a bit husky, love his look. I'll have to keep an eye out for him.

I still follow Conchita, the winner of the 2014 EVC....such an interesting personality and I just loved her first album, play it all the time. She's currently on a 3-month hiatus, taking some time off and writing music for her 2nd album....can't wait.

It occurred to me the other day that a good majority of my Ipod is music from other countries, and not necessarily US singers. Hmm....

I have several albums that aren't even sung in English. It's so exciting to find talent that isn't cookie cutter....so many great singers/entertainers around the globe.

I just love music ::banana:: ::banana::

OMG, I've been reading the tweets by some guy named Daz Gale (who's all excited about seeing Adam tonight) and he's tweeting up a storm about Eurovision ::crylaugh:: ::crylaugh:: ::crylaugh::

I'm laughing soooo hard at his commentary. Now, if you've never seen this show, and I only saw some Youtubes from when Conchy was one, this is the cheesiest cheesefest ever. Some of the countries are a bit talented, most aren't really, and some are just lots of special effects and costumes and very little singing. Daz Gale's commentary is hilarious. It makes me wish I had a tv to watch (not really lol).

Yes, she was great. But, I'm also a fan of the two guys in the finale -- Adam and Laeth. It will be interesting to see how this plays out tonight. Alisan has been the frontrunner since her audition. But never count out Blake's fans and their voting for his team. After all, this show is more about the judges than the contestants.

Whatever happens, it's been another great season with lots of talent. And I really like that the finale is represented by a wide range of genres/talents. I have to go check out iTunes. This is the first time in a long time I'm actually interested in buying some of the songs.

I happen to agree too about Adam & Laith. Both Adam & Alisan have been my favorites with Laith 3rd. To be honest, I will be very surprised if Alisan wins. Adam has been the front runner on Itunes and we all know when it's country and especially with someone who sings like Adam no one else has a chance as a rule.

Alisan is very versatile unlike the rest. What I really noticed was that Alisan has actually has a really good country voice too which puts her just about able to sing any genre while Adam is strictly country, and Laith more or less strictly blues. Not criticizing them as I love what they do too just that Alisan reminds me so much of our Adam in how she emotes her songs. I have been buying both Adam's and Alisan's songs, except for this week, I am holding off buying Adam's until after the Voice tonight.

Don't be surprised that the songs on Itunes don't sound the same as when they sang live, which is a shame to me. It always seems to lose something on a recording after hearing them sing live. But that is JMO. ::grin::

I think this has been the best season so far, and this year, the Voice may just have a winner who really does well after the show! Well we know there is no doubt that Adam will whether he wins or not, if Blake has anything to do with it. ::haha::

I'm so happy for Alisan and totally cracked up when she let out that yell right after Christina hugged her. I bought most of her songs and I think they sound amazing on iTunes. I personally really enjoy the high quality of the iTunes recordings. They are much better sounding than my TV or YouTube videos. They really highlight the pitch perfect, high quality of her voice across her entire vocal range.

Considering that this show is called The Voice, I feel that she clearly was superior to the others. I liked Hanna but there were some deficiencies in her vocals occasionally. Then the guys were great musicians with nice voices but not in the same league as Alisan in the vocal department.
