Je suis Charlie.  Reference to the shootings...and murder of 12 people... in Paris last month at the Charlie Hebdo magazine offices and a Jewish grocery store.  It's meaning is a reference to freedom of speech.

It originates from the shooting that took place in Paris last month. But overnight, there were two similar shootings in Copenhagen. What a lovely gesture!!!!

The people in Paris had huge crowds holding up a pencil in defiance... It's become a symbol of the world standing up to terrorists!
