Can you spot 17 year old Toe-Knee (before it was TK)? 👀
I turned on #Netflix today and saw an old high school friend, Adam Lambert 🕺🏻 on the homepage for, “The Show Must Go On: The Queen + Adam Lambert Story”.
Yes, we went to high school together back in the day at Mt. Carmel in San Diego, California. And yes, now he’s the lead singer of one of the most iconic bands ever, #Queen. HOW AMAZING IS THAT?! 😱
Anyways, I started watching it and noticed they showed a short clip from our “RAID” Airbands performance from 2000. Back in the day, Airbands was the biggest event of the year for us. We would prepare for months to perform a 5 minute dance & lip sync routine that had a story, custom made costumes, and a full on backdrop. We would compete at our high school, then with other high schools in the local PUSD district, and finally at the #Pepsi Finals at the #UCSD Rimac Arena against all the best high schools from all over San Diego. It was the highlight of my high school days being able to perform with my friends in front of thousands of people. It was what laid the foundation for me to start dancing in the first place… Such great memories! ❤️
Looking back, we all knew Adam was such a talented kid, but I don’t think any of us imagined how far he would take it. Although I haven’t seen him in years, I’ve always loved seeing him on #AmericanIdol, and now as the lead singer of Queen. So proud of you Adam. 🙌🏼
Here’s a homemade video from 2️⃣0️⃣ years ago from our “Raid” performance. No this isn’t one of those cool retro filters, this is what handheld cameras looked like back in the day. HAHAH

On this #HumansOfMusic podcast, Adam Lambert joins host, Rod Yates, to discuss how this self-confessed "weird kid" from Indiana became the lead singer of Queen and an established solo artist in his own right.
