RDude, the last line . . . (wag of the finger). You came up with it in your car on the way to the show didn't you? It was a mistake to stick with it. Rule #1 in journalism is know your audience, and you finished with THAT? I saw Queen + Adam Lambert in concert (not this venue)and enjoyed it. You are entitled to your opinion especially as a professional music reviewer, but you lost all credibility from my perspective when you blatantly disrespected Brian May and Roger Taylor, two gentlemen... » more

I really even wonder if this reporter was in the audience. When Brian asked what everyone thought of the new guy, did he not hear the screams, and cheers? I checked out his twitter account hoping he'd have a picture of himself and he did. Considering he looks to be in his mid 20's at best; why would anyone give any credence to anything he would have to say about band who rose to fame before he was even born? I am in my 60's and saw the first show in Chicago. It was the best concert I have... » more

You want to appear cool and knowledgeable in your review. Instad you've read as somebody that went to the concert with a preconceived notion of want wanted to write. I liked the show.

What's up with this mean-spirited, negative review? The Queen + Adam Lambert concert at the Forum was fantastic! The footage of Freddy Mercury honored him and did so beautifully. Adam's singing was inspired! The drum battle by Rufus and Roger Taylor was spectacular. Brian May's performance was jaw-dropping. This was a highlight of my baby-boomer life. My 26 & 29 year old 'kids' loved the concert and singing to every song as much as I did. Well Done! The LA Times should have sent a... » more

I'm glad I was at the concert to judge it for myself . The author of this disjointed argument attended the show for negative criticism alone, and not for Queen's music. I was fortunate to see Queen in concert during my teen years, before Freddie's death and John's retirement. I would never forget that concert as long as I live.
The concert was wonderful. Lambert(not a performer I follow) has the right register to reach those cords Freddie once did and brought forth all those songs Queen fans... » more

Queen fan forever, Adam Lambert supporter since I first heard his glorious voice and met his glorious self years ago.
I attended the LA concert, traveled a long way to get there, don't regret a single second of that time or a single penny of the cost.
I was a part of an emotional experience which reduced me and many around me to tears in several places, deeply touched with the respect and reverence shown to Freddie Mercury by Brian, Roger, Adam and the guys, and the gentle loving way they... » more

I'll add that here's a snippet from a review from another writer: "One of the most moving moments of the night was when May took the spot on the catwalk stage with his acoustic guitar for a solo rendition of “Love of My Life.” The song was written by Mercury, so it was only fitting for him to take over the vocals via vintage video footage.
Drummer Roger Taylor also had his solo song time singing “These are the Days of Our Lives” accompanied by a video montage of Queen in their heyday.

ps here is the review of someone who "got it" spotlight on Brian & Roger, tribue to Freddie 2 of the 5 highlights of the show.
