IN THE LAP OF THE GODS

What you’re gonna read is a recollection of my feelings and thoughts about the three Queen + Adam Lambert concerts I saw. The first one was at the SAP Center, in San Jose – I was far from the stage, on setor 115. The second one was at The Joint, in Las Vegas, and I watched it from the floor, 17th row. The last one was also in Las Vegas......

It was also a shock to notice how BEAUTIFUL he really is – no picture can ever do him justice, not ever. But what I retained most from that concert was a feeling that Adam was the most complex, nuanced person I’ve ever seen, on stage or not. Nothing about him is simple, obvious, black and white. Adam has infinite shades of every color conceivable. He can be a sex God in a second, a soft angel the next. He can be the guy who will hold you down and make you scream, but also the one who will embrace you tenderly and never let go. He can be the blues singer that comes at midnight, or the innocent boy who sings choirs in a church. The impossible thing, the thing that baffles me, is that all of those characters are Adam. His stage persona is a amalgam of all those traits. It’s not that different from what happens with Adam’s music, I guess. I truly believe Adam solo work will never be contained in one single genre. It’s simply not possible. Adam’s personality, talent and charisma are just too HUGE to be limited by conventions, rules, limitations. I treasure that.
