Tonight's show is at the ENMORE THEATRE

Sydney is the largest and most populous city in Australia and the state capital of New South Wales. Sydney is located on Australia's south-east coast of the Tasman Sea. With an approximate population of 4.5 million in the Sydney metropolitan area the city is the largest in Oceania. Inhabitants of Sydney are called Sydneysiders, comprising a cosmopolitan and international population of people from numerous places around the world. In 2010, Sydney was ranked 10th worldwide by consulting firm Mercer on quality of living. In 2009, Sydney was ranked 3rd in Asia, and 22nd in the world on social and economic innovation.

Sydney has a reputation as an international centre for commerce, arts, fashion, culture, entertainment, music, education and tourism. Sydney has hosted major international sporting events, including the 1938 British Empire Games, the 2000 Summer Olympics, and the final match of the 2003 Rugby World Cup.

Sydney has a temperate climate with warm summers and mild winters.

As the financial and economic hub of Australia, Sydney has grown to become a wealthy and prosperous city, ranking as the second wealthiest city in the world in terms of per capita purchasing power .The largest economic sectors in Sydney, as measured by the number of people employed, include property and business services, retail, manufacturing, and health and community services. Since the 1980s, jobs have moved from manufacturing to the services and information sectors. Sydney provides approximately 25 percent of the country's total GDP. The Australian Securities Exchange and the Reserve Bank of Australia are located in Sydney, as are the headquarters of 90 banks and more than half of Australia's top companies, and the regional headquarters for around 500 multinational corporations.

Outside the city centre there are number of shopping destinations of interest. Inner eastern suburbs such as Potts Point, Darlinghurst and Surry Hills provide a diverse range of shops for the culturally creative and alternative lifestyle groups that live there, while other inner eastern areas like Paddington and Woollahra are home to boutiques selling more niche products. Inner western suburbs like Newtown and Glebe cater more towards students and alternative lifestyles. Double Bay in Sydney's harbourside eastern suburbs is upmarket area known for its expensive boutiques. Seaside areas, including Bondi Beach in the eastern beaches area and Manly in the northern beaches area, have a retail scene based upon their beach locations, with many surfing and surfer style clothing shops.

THE VENUE
The Enmore is a well established theater and entertainment space in Sydney, Australia. The 2000 capacity venue welcomes an eclectic mix of artists, ranging from Yeah Yeah Yeahs to Boyz II Men, to the stage. The Enmore also hosts comedy and children's entertainments. The Enmore Theatre is one of Sydney’s oldest operating entertainment venues. It’s located along Enmore Road, in the suburb of Enmore (south west of Newtown) in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is a medium-sized venue, but the history and atmosphere of the building have attracted some of the world’s largest bands, including a Licks Tour performance by The Rolling Stones.

WHAT THE ENMORE THEATRE SAYS ABOUT ADAM:

Hot off the tail-end of his US tour, glam-pop revivalist, Adam Lambert, is making his anticipated return to Australia with a string of full-tilt shows resplendent with glitter, leather and melodrama.

Lambert’s trajectory to stardom began less than two short years ago when he reached runner up in the eighth season of American Idol. Proving that the winner does not necessarily take it all, he has gone on to blaze the trail for left-of-centre performers the world over with his neo-glam irreverence and vocal virtuosity, receiving far more attention than his castmates during the months following the conclusion of the series.

Audiences can expect to see an audio-visual spectacular, both theatrical and atmospheric, when Lambert takes the stage with his playful melodrama conjuring up nods to Sixties psychadelia, Seventies disco and Eighties glam-goth. With a voice that has the falsetto extension and flamboyance of Freddie Mercury and the neon-bright stage presence of the Scissor Sisters, this newly minted pop star is set to be a swooping phenomenon.

Adam’s debut album For Your Entertainment was released in Australia in March of this year and is swiftly approaching Gold sales with its position held in the ARIA top 20 albums charts. Adam’s hit single Whataya Want From Me, written by Pink and Max Martin, was a Top 5 platinum single on the ARIA charts, with his second single If I Had You also striking the charts as a Top 5 Gold single.

The Give a Damn Campaign is joining the over 1 million people on Facebook taking part in “Spirit Day” by shedding our RED for the day and wearing PURPLE tomorrow, Wednesday, October 20th.

What is Spirit Day?

The idea behind Spirit Day, first created by teenager Brittany McMillan earlier this month, is a simple one, not dissimilar to the idea of “Spirit Week” held in many high schools, and can be summed up in three words: Everyone Rally Together.

Spirit Day honors the teenagers who had taken their own lives in recent weeks. But just as importantly, it’s also a way to show the hundreds of thousands of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth who face the same pressures and bullying, that there is a vast community of people who support them.

Purple symbolizes ’spirit’ on the rainbow flag, a symbol for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Pride that was created by Gilbert Baker in 1978.

As one of the event’s Facebook pages says: “This event is not a seminar nor is it a rally. There is NO meeting place. All you have to do is wear purple.”

Wearing purple on October 20 is a simple way to show the world that you stand by these courageous young people and a simple way to stand UP to the bullies. Remember those lives we’ve tragically lost, and show your solidarity with those who are still fighting. ‘Go Purple’ today!

The singer - whilst revving up the crowd to mammoth proportions, was ferociously scouting the audience for a person to "rock pash" as he regularly does as part of his show…

Little did he know (or did he) that the bloke he picked, was none other than openly gay Olympian Matthew Mitcham!

Unfortunately for Adam, Matty has a partner of four years, and whilst OBVIOUSLY a fan (his hands were fist pumping higher than the 10 meter platform) the sporting hero was not forthcoming with the lip lock.

Adam was honourably gracious in defeat - claiming RESPECT for the decline and moved on to the delight of another male admirer in the sell out crowd.

Post Show, Matthew tweeted to Adam "Sorry @adamlambert, I have a boyfriend... Didn't mean to be rude ;P"

he also commented that "Adam's concert is about love & havin that special sum1 to share it with. Which I have."

Many twitter fans were devastated that Matty didn't snog the Glambert - but you have to admire his conviction. A lot of boys would have been throwing their partners on stage for a lip lock moment with our favourite singer!
