We have a holiday today so I have a bit time - for some reason I am not able to post on this board when I am at work. Could be they blocked certain forums.

Adams MD is important for live appearance and touring so I am interested who has the "responsibility". Other then that I hope the backing band will stay in the background - really do not need a drama like yesterday/today on twitter again.

Hope Adam will be on Ellen again for the album release with an interview.

Didn't post yesterday, as I was too busy replaying the video of Adam on the Ellen Show. Didn't matter that I watched it 3 times off the television. [0144.gif]

Anyway, I thought Adam did a wonderful job with a song that, IMO, is a hard one to do live. I couldn't figure out for the life of me, how he was going to perform certain parts of the song but thought the lights popping off and off when he clicked his fingers was absolutely brilliant.

At the beginning, he was a little nervous, you could see it in his eyes, but he is true professional and unless you were looking for it, others who are not Glamberts would probably not have noticed it.

He wouldn't be human, what with all the hype for GT, if he wasn't a bit nervous, especially after coming from being with Queen, and then putting out his first single in a long while and the pressure of doing the song live for the first time.
He did a fantastic job, and the setting was perfect. On a side note I just loved his outfit. That jacket was to die for. [happy.gif] He looked gorgeous and I thought it was perfect for the song. [Love.png]

Wondering though, if this will be Adam's band, or are they just hired to do the promo shows? [0062.gif]

I have to pity them that after five years, they still believe that Adam and Tommy are hidden lovers. When I watched the show, I was wondering if there would be a big toodoo (spelling??) about a certain person not being there and I came on just now to see,that yes indeedy, there was. No surprise there. Wonder if this will be his backing band?
I really liked that the band members did a great job while so obviously staying low key.(heads down, hat covering face, no spotlights on any of them)
I don't care one way or the other who is in the band. Don't care about Tommy one way or the other, either. But bottom line, the backing band is just that...the BACKING band. They are meant to support the talent, not try to overshadow. We saw one guitarist try to put himself on equal footing, maybe even put himself above, and crash and burn. I personally don't think Tommy is trying to do that in any way. I think he has his own group of fans who have very set ideas about his importance and relationship to Adam who get totally bent when things don't go the way they think they should. But I don't believe Tommy feels that way or encourages them, unlike the previous guitarist.
People have the right to become fans and support/idolize whomever they want. If people love certain band members and want to follow them, more power to them. But they need to realize that that is separate from Adam. Encourage them (him) to pursue solo careers and follow the hell out of them(him). But don't expect them(him) to become the focus in Adam's BACKUP band. Adam has given them(him) work and exposure...for years. He doesn't owe them(him) anything else. If certain fans think Tommy is more important/more talented/more whatever than Adam and decide to stop following Adam in favor of Tommy, well......I think they're nuts, but whatever. (You think maybe those fans think they have more of a,chance of meeting/becoming friends with Tommy so that's why they flail over him? Just a thought.)

What it's suddenly Adams fault now. Some people are a bunch of over invested nutters? I mean really. Clearly some fans have created very set ideas of what Tommy's impact or role was in Adam's career. But they need to gain perspective and realize solo performers (Yes he is a solo performer, I thought he was the frontman of M5 too I was shocked ;)). Get rid of bass guitarists all the time. Partic if they are backing. Some of these nutters need to get it through their thick skulls. Adam Lambert and Tommy were NOT in a band together. Therefore their is no immediate loyalty or anything. Their is a difference between a backing band and an actual band. A backing band is their to support the artist. What bothers me here is people are implying Tommy is relevant or deserves the same limelight as Adam. Adam is the STAR no one else. He is disposable I am sorry it is true. I don't know the guy I have nothing againgst him. I am just indifferent to him because I signed up to hear Adam sing that's it.

I think you are preaching to the choir here again. I don't believe anyone on this forum believes that it is Adam's fault at all. IMO, Tommy should have been gone after era1. But we all know that Adam is loyal to a fault. It bites his azz sometimes and that is the sad part for me.

When Tommy's nutter fans start with the loyalty meme...well, that is beyond me too. Loyalty? Really? He GOT PAID to do a job. Loyalty to me, would have been to still play for Adam for free or take a pay cut. THAT is loyalty to me. IMO, Adam was the loyal one to Tommy. Not the other way around.

When Adam performs with Queen, you can see the professionalism. Roger, Spike and Brian never take their eyes off of Adam and follow his lead. Adam's past backing band members were never watching him. They were just showboating for their own benefit and look where it got them in the end.

I'm glad the slate was wiped clean.
