Heartwarming to see the love and awe from the Queen fans heartbounce.gif
<3 this one...... which probably is encompasses so many Queen fans (NOW :D )........WOVEdmonton 20m
No one could live up to Freddie Mercury like Adam Lambert. For voice and showmanship,Lambert is a class of his own
...............whoever WOVEdmonton is? ...he spoke for all of us ....except we knew it 5 years ago...duh.... :duh:
and as to this .........the dude is a pretzel worth eating.....sigh........
QUOTE
He sang pedestrian and plodding versions of Another One Bites The Dust and I Want It All, where both lacked the feeling of the original,

You tell him, Sylvia!!!!
:haha:

Great comments above!! And this.... "LMAO Geez Derek! Did Lambert steal your lunch money when you were kids or something. I get it. You dont like him but a bit of objectivity wouldn't go astray. Your "review" reeks of subjective sour grapes. He deserved a great deal more respect for the show he put on than you've shown here. I'm wondering if you were even there or just got a few notes from some sneering red-neck buddies in the nosebleed section via your phone. And honey if someone saying "fat ass bitches" is "shocking" or Lambert's mildly theatrical costumes were outlandish (in any context let alone for a Queen gig) to you, it's time you put on your big girl panties and hauled yer-prissy self into the 21st Century. ROFLMAO. In addition - sadly, all the songs you seem to dismiss as fluff or fillers were some of the very best Queen have ever produced. Why did you disrespect & skim over them as if they were rubbish? Because Adam completely nailed the very difficult and intricate vocals I expect". .....
:haha:  Tell him Silvia!!! That made me laugh out loud.
'Silvia' date='Jun 26th 2014, 12:01 AM
:haha: I'm not even that mad. It's just that "pedestrian and plodding" offended me there for a few minutes. They are pathetic with their need to somehow put him down no matter how ridiculous the arguments. It's really about them and not Adam but they don't realize that.
madamimadam' date='Jun 26th 2014, 12:03 AM
I know I'm the one who brought in the stoooopid review, but we have so much to be thrilled for, I didn't give it much more thought beyond bringing in some of the funny comments...
I still can't get over the "Freddie makes Adam look like a lumberjack" one!!!!
misswood' date='Jun 26th 2014, 12:22 AM
I think ole' Owen's just pissed off cause Adam didn't wear those little red and white striped shorts. ;)
Silvia' date='Jun 26th 2014, 12:44 AM
It's hilarious and it's true :haha:
:haha: Laughing aside, I think that's part of the reason for negative reactions to him. His beauty and sexiness "confuses" them ;)
sealuv' date='Jun 26th 2014, 10:07 AM
Just read the gigcity “review” (?) …..clay aiken?.....although this piece was pure crap…….for me…just reading the comment section made up for it :haha: ………..and, agree, the “lumberjack” one was an ace…..
Tiki'srose' date='Jun 26th 2014, 12:05 PM
 You hit the nail on the head Silvia. Totally agree. Probably this is the only way this idiot gets any hits on his site.
Sabine' date='Jun 26th 2014, 12:44 PM
And it worked perfectly fine. 8 pages Edmonton and 2 of them about that jerk. ;)
The tour has just started and this is the first but not the last bad or strange review we will be getting.
But great to see some pics of Freddie in his heydays. Those were the days when Rock was dirty and funny and individualism was embraced.
Adam and Queen are bringing back the fun and outrageousness.
sixona' date='Jun 26th 2014, 1:03 PM
yes !!!  Rock as it was meant to be
Silvia' date='Jun 26th 2014, 3:32 PM
Spot on!!!!!
I grew up on the fumes of that rock age through videos and "records" (when they were still real records :haha: ). when music was still art and singers could really sing.
That's a great part of why I love Adam - the epic voice, the showmanship, the music, the rock energy, the individualism. So few do it today. So few are capable of doing it. :(

@adamlambert You were so amazing last night and your addition to my beloved band #queen is absolutely fantastic! I had the best time!
Freddie Fundamentalists mostly make me laugh. They do not have a clue. Plus Freddie makes Adam look like a lumber jack....seriously what you been smoking boy.
OK so you want attention by taking the low road, with a review of smugness, arrogance and a total disregard for what was actually taking place on that stage with Adam and Queen.. Adam's costumes were mild to say the least and his singing was like crashing waves of greatness against the theater's shores. Did you stay home and send it in or did the critic take his bourbon to the bathroom with him, while he thought out ways to be daring and contrary to all the raves that Queen and Adam got.
Mike Ross Editor: Do you know what an embarrassment this review is!! Derek Owen: Who the hell are you and what concert were you at! Your prejudice toward Adam Lambert is so obvious! If you really went to this concert you already had your views about Adam being Queen's Frontman set in Negative Stone! Y
Where were you the last hour of supposed not singing.? Taking a bathroom break? Cause he dominated that stage!!!!! We get it, you don't like him. Your review sucks and is not even factual. Come into the 21st century dude. Get your head outtya ass. Too bold for you???
Congratulations on being the first reviewer to give the Once in a Lifetime Tour a mediocre review. Well, as they say, the cheese stands alone. And you, Mr. Owen, are pure Limberger. Pheew!

All the people on here calling me a homophobe for making some mildly critical comments are completely out to lunch. Long live Clay Aiken. :-P
hmmmmm.....now it's all crystal clear....either you're just another claymate or you ARE Clay Aiken! lol
Ha, well I'm certainly glad Freddie always dressed appropriately for the music and the status of Queen. outside of that

Sniff, sniff....no one likes me lol
I almost get the feeling this guy's review was on purpose, like he just wanted to go against the grain, so to speak.
Maybe he figured he'd get more attention that way??
I don't know, but he kind of looks stupid, considering everybody else has been giving them rave reviews. I agree it sounded like he wasn't even there, or wasn't even paying attention.
Silvia' date='Jun 25th 2014, 10:56 PM
You don't get it, guys. This guy's just a snobish, pretentious assshole who thinks that if he throws in many insults along with a compliment or two, he's "cool", "edgy" and showing his "uncompromising masculinity" :haha: . How that fits with someone claiming to be a huge fan of the flamiest, most extroverted performer ever, I have no idea but they are obviously not seeing the paradox.
When self proclaimed Queen/Freddie fans bemoan Adam's "OTT" costumes, it convinces me that they are homophobes who don't want to attack gay Adam directly (it's not the bon ton now) and since attacking his voice is out of the question, they attack his clothes, his interpretations or his conduct to get their fix.
Of course, this bitch attacked his voice by saying that it's "too clean" for rock as if all great rockers had/have a low or gritty voice which is BS.
Yup. I see why he would think Adam is OTT :haha:
misswood' date='Jun 26th 2014, 1:22 AM
Butt, just think... what 'IF' Adam wore some shorts like that? :o We would be unprepared!! :fear:
sixona' date='Jun 26th 2014, 9:29 AM
Hmmm...on top of or under the leather poncho ? :teehee:
Oh well, there's one in every crowd. The review is so ridiculous that I found myself laughing as I was reading.
svca' date='Jun 25th 2014, 11:15 PM
Yikes, that's a little too much Freddie for me, lol.
He sure liked to wear the minimum of clothing, and as tight as possible. :fear:
I don't find him attractive at all, but if that were Adam... :shifty:
Silvia' date='Jun 25th 2014, 11:23 PM
Freddie was EPIC :haha: He wasn't as beautiful or sexy as Adam but he was electrifying in every way. When I first saw Adam, I immediately thought "Freddie", not because of looks (they don't resemble) but because they share a few traits - huge voices, both extroverts, both great interpreters, great charisma and ability to connect to crowds.
That was the oddest review! While I didn't like the first couple of songs as much as the later ones, to call the beginning anything less than thrilling is crazy!!! The atmosphere in the area was electric as the show started, and it only built from there.
And in the middle section, it was quieter and sweeter. To call that part "rock excess"-- I don't get it...
Did you see the comments section? Mr. Owen stated that Brian brought in Adam so he could "print money". Wouldn't it be amazing if Glamberts had that much power? And numbers? I wish <3 <3 <3 .
You Will Rock Me! @sandyzzzen 13m awwww Finally Adamfus' pic!! and other ppl... but still! LOOVE IT http://instagram.com/p/pt_F8GooUg/
" Just another Tuesday nite at the unicorn" :haha:
What's that thing hanging above Brian's head in the 4th picture?
madamimadam' date='Jun 26th 2014, 6:09 PM
It's actually Brian's chin!
misswood' date='Jun 26th 2014, 6:47 PM
Ok, Marie. :) Whatever you say.
aviddem' date='Jun 26th 2014, 7:29 PM
Bwahahahaha! I think it's his giant chin on the giant monitor behind them?
misswood' date='Jun 26th 2014, 7:51 PM
WHEW! What a relief! you guys are right, :)) I see it's a chin now. For a second I thought a giant scrotum was gonna land on top of Brians head. :fear:
vampfever' date='Jun 26th 2014, 7:55 PM
I'm pretty sure Adam hasn't joined the Tea Party... :P
maybe...
frank1088' date='Jun 26th 2014, 8:14 PM
OMG, Miss Wood, I am sitting here laughing and pounding the desk like a fool! It really DOES look like a giant scrotum
I. CAN'T. STOP. LAUGHING.
